What Is Homeopathy? Homeopathy is HOLISTIC

When I made the decision to study homeopathy formally and become a certified homeopathic practitioner, one of the first things my friends would often ask me was, “What IS homeopathy?”

Homeopathy is HOLISTIC

“The part can never be well unless the whole is well.”

— PLATO

The German doctor who invented homeopathy in the 18th century, did so after reading countless numbers of books by famous healers who had gone before him. Did you know that Plato was not just a philosopher, but he was also had a deep understanding of how the human body functions? Plato understood holistic medicine before it was a trendy 21st century term.

Homeopathy is a healing modality that always looks at ALL the person’s symptoms at any given time. Even if the issue is something as simple as a viral sore throat and fever, your homeopathic practitioner will need to know not only the sore throat and fever symptoms, but also the mental/emotional state at the time. Whether the person is restless or lethargic; appetite or no appetite; thirsty or thirstless, etc . All of a person’s symptoms at any given time represent a picture of health and well being, or a picture of an imbalance in health.

Have you ever found yourself saying, “I hurt all over,” or, “When I’m sick, I get so depressed,” or “Whenever I get stressed, I get a migraine.” Being sick is often a whole body experience! Whether or not we are aware of it, when one part of our body is out of balance, it affects other parts of us as well since everything in or body is literally connected.

Homeopathy looks at illness as a disturbance of health that affects the entire body. Therefore, true healing and resolution of the illness can only occur when addressed systemically.
